“Empowering Women in Science: Bridging Gaps and Building Futures” was the topic of the Women in Science webinar organized by LIAISE COST Action to celebrate the International Day of Women and Girls in Science on 11th February.

The inspiring session highlighted the achievements, challenges, and ongoing efforts of women who have made an impact in research, technology, and innovation.

There were :

Powerful talks from inspiring women in science

Insight into the critical role of women in advancing scientific progress

Conversations around the importance of inclusivity and diversity in STEM fields

An opportunity to ask questions and engage with the speakers

The exact webinar agenda was:

Part 1: Women Pioneers of Sustainable Science (20 minutes) Ofira Ayalon and Yvonne Ryan shared their inspiring journeys and achievements.

Part 2: Young Women and Girls Leading in Science (20 minutes) Giovanna Colucci, Dinah Awino, and Gülsah Keklik showcased their impactful contributions and innovative projects.

Part 3: Interactive Workshop – “How to Inspire the Next Generation” (30 minutes) Moderated by Sena Das and Valbona Karapici, this session included breakout discussions on how we can collectively inspire future generations of scientists.

While the webinar featured women who are pioneers and changemakers, it was open to everyone. They believe we all need to listen, reflect, and engage to foster an inclusive and inspiring environment for women and girls in science.
