The INSPIRE project invites researchers, policymakers, equality practitioners, and institutional leaders to its final conference: “Inclusive Gender Equality in R&I from an Intersectional Perspective: Lessons from INSPIRE for the Evidence Base, Practice & Policy.” The event takes place on 16–17 April 2026 at Townhall Europe in Brussels.
The INSPIRE project is an EU-funded Centre of Excellence on Inclusive Gender Equality, which has been conducting high-quality research and building sustainable support ecosystems for equality in research and innovation (R&I). This conference presents the project’s key findings, methodologies, and policy recommendations.
The programme features presentations on intersectional approaches to gender equality, evidence-based policy recommendations for research institutions, panel discussions with national and European stakeholders, and networking opportunities for organisations working towards inclusive excellence in science.
Topics covered include structural change in research institutions, addressing gender-based violence in academia, inclusive hiring and promotion practices, and connecting institutional policies with wider European Research Area (ERA) frameworks.
This event is particularly relevant for STEAM education stakeholders interested in how gender equality policies shape the research and innovation landscape in Europe, and how evidence from the INSPIRE project can inform educational practice.
