The TINKER MOOC “Teach Informatics Using Authentic Learning and Gender Inclusion” is a free online course starting on 23 March 2026, hosted on the European Schoolnet Academy platform. This course is designed for educators and EdTech professionals who want to make their informatics classrooms more inclusive and connected to real life.

In this MOOC, participants will learn how to build their own authentic, inclusive learning scenarios for informatics education. The course focuses on connecting lessons to real-world contexts, ensuring gender inclusion so that every student – regardless of gender – feels engaged and motivated, and sparking curiosity among all learners.

Through interactive modules, participants will develop skills to spot and fix gaps in existing informatics activities, design new learning approaches that combine real-world relevance with gender-inclusive pedagogy, and share ideas with a European community of educators. The course provides practical tools and frameworks that can be directly applied in the classroom.

The MOOC is self-paced and runs until 29 April 2026 (final deadline for all activities). It is an excellent opportunity for STEAM educators interested in advancing gender equality and authentic learning in informatics education.
