EU Code Week’s Girls in Digital Week is a pan-European initiative that brings people together to learn, share, and grow in a welcoming, inclusive environment where confidence, creativity, and curiosity in technology can flourish. From classrooms to communities across Europe, the 2026 edition takes place from 23 to 27 March 2026.
The initiative is part of the broader EU Code Week campaign, which inspires millions of people each year to explore coding and computational thinking. Girls in Digital Week specifically focuses on creating inclusive spaces and encouraging young girls and women to engage with digital skills and STEM subjects through hands-on “Girls Code It Better” activities, coding sprints, and workshops.
During the week, schools, organisations, and community groups across Europe organise activities aimed at closing the gender gap in digital fields. The initiative encourages educators and learners alike to explore how technology skills open doors to future careers and creative problem-solving. The EU Code Week Hackathons further empower young people to turn ideas into impact with code, including the EU Finals on 11 March 2026.
Whether you’re a young person, educator, parent, or organisation — there’s a place for you in Girls in Digital Week!
