“Women Are Gonna Make It!” (WAGMI) is a hackathon for women of all experience levels, organised by the Artificial Intelligence Center Hamburg (ARIC) in partnership with the German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence (DFKI), Hacker School, Presada, and neue fische. The name draws from the gaming and crypto culture phrase “We’re All Gonna Make It” — reframed here as a call to action for women in tech.

The hackathon offers hands-on challenges across four technology tracks: Artificial Intelligence, Robotics, HTML/CSS, and Internet of Things (IoT). It is designed to be welcoming for both newcomers and experienced programmers alike — because together, diverse teams complement each other best. At the hackathon, participants can try out new skills, solve real-world problems with the support of experienced mentors, and connect with other women interested in technology.

The event is free to participate in and takes place in Hamburg, Germany. The 2026 edition (now also branded as “WoHa! Women’s Hackathon”) continues ARIC’s mission of making the technology sector more inclusive and accessible by giving women the opportunity to experience hands-on AI, robotics, and IoT development in a supportive environment.

This initiative demonstrates how practical, inclusive tech events can inspire women and girls to pursue digital skills and STEM careers — aligning with STREAM IT’s mission to advance girls and women in STE(A)M.
