The ESERA Summer School 2026 will take place from 30 June to 3 July 2026, hosted by the University of Luxembourg. Organised by the European Science Education Research Association (ESERA), this intensive programme is designed for early-career researchers in science education.

ESERA, founded in 1995, is the leading European association for science education research. The Summer School provides a unique opportunity for doctoral students and early-career researchers to develop their research skills, receive mentoring from established scholars, and build networks with peers from across Europe and beyond.

The programme includes workshops on research methodologies in science education, keynote presentations on current trends and challenges in the field, small-group mentoring sessions with experienced researchers, and collaborative working groups. Participants gain practical skills in conducting and communicating science education research.

For the STREAM IT community, this event is particularly relevant as it strengthens the pipeline of researchers who will shape the future of science education — including those working on gender-inclusive approaches to STEM teaching and learning. It is an excellent opportunity for emerging scholars interested in how educational research can inform more equitable and effective STEAM practices.
