The European Science-Media Hub (ESMH) Summer School 2026 takes place from 22 to 25 June 2026 at the European Parliament in Brussels. Organised by the European Parliamentary Research Service, this annual training programme is designed for young journalists and science communicators.
The 2026 edition focuses on the intersection of artificial intelligence and science communication, exploring how AI tools are transforming the way scientific information is produced, disseminated, and consumed. Participants will gain hands-on experience with new communication techniques, learn about the challenges of misinformation in science reporting, and develop skills for producing accurate, engaging science content.
The ESMH was established to serve as a bridge between the scientific community, media professionals, and policymakers. The Summer School is one of its flagship initiatives, providing an intensive learning environment at the heart of European institutions.
For the STREAM IT community, this event is highly relevant as it builds capacity in science communication — a critical skill for engaging the public with STEM topics and for ensuring that scientific research reaches diverse audiences, including underrepresented groups.
