The 11th Living Knowledge Conference takes place from 7 to 10 July 2026 in Gdańsk, Poland. Organised by the Living Knowledge Network, this biennial European conference focuses on citizen science, community-based research, and public engagement with science and technology.
Under the theme “Research and Solidarity,” the 2026 edition brings together researchers, practitioners, policymakers, and civil society organisations to discuss how participatory research can address societal challenges and promote social inclusion. The programme features keynote presentations, interactive workshops, paper sessions, and networking events.
The Living Knowledge Network has been a leading European platform for community-based participatory research since 2003, connecting Science Shops, universities, and civil society organisations across the continent. The conference addresses topics such as responsible research and innovation, co-creation methodologies, science communication, and the role of public engagement in shaping research agendas.
For the STREAM IT community, this event highlights how science engagement can be made more inclusive and responsive to community needs, aligning with the project’s goals of broadening participation in STEM and reducing gender inequalities in science education.
