The European Innovation Academy (EIA) 2026 takes place from 20 July to 7 August 2026 in Porto, Portugal. EIA is recognized as the world’s number-one entrepreneurship study abroad programme, bringing together students and young professionals from over 70 countries.
During the intensive three-week programme, participants form international teams, develop startup ideas from concept to prototype, and pitch to real investors and industry mentors. The programme covers design thinking, business model development, pitching, and leadership skills.
Research has shown that EIA has a particularly strong impact on women participants: entrepreneurial intent increased by 15% among women compared to 9% among men, and women reported higher confidence in pitching and leadership post-programme (Taggar, Domurath & Coviello, 2019).
For the STREAM IT community, EIA exemplifies how immersive entrepreneurship education can specifically empower women in STEM and technology, building the confidence and skills needed to launch ventures and lead innovation.
