The Institute Mihajlo Pupin (IMP) organized the second edition of Girls in ICT Day on 16 April 2026 in Belgrade, Serbia. The event was held to mark the International Girls in ICT Day and encourage young girls to explore careers in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.
The programme featured a robotics workshop where participants could build and programme robots, guided laboratory visits showcasing IMP’s research facilities, and a panel discussion titled “Don’t Ask Google — Ask a Female Engineer!” where female engineers and researchers shared their career paths and answered questions directly from the audience.
The event also included networking opportunities for participants and mentors, fostering connections between young girls and women already working in STEM fields.
For the STREAM IT community, this event demonstrates the impact of hands-on, locally organized STEM outreach activities by consortium members, directly engaging young girls with real-world engineering and research.
